I bought this book for a family road trip we took in 2004. I was very impressed with all he had to offer. There was a section on ways to make time in the car more pleasant, what, what to plan, how to reduce costs, etc. And then all of California had set so you can quickly search for things to do in each area that is scheduled to visit. There are scores of what it will cost (the rate of admission to places of interest, lists of hotels and their prices and ratings, camping sites and the costs and ratings, ratings and prices for restaurants, etc) and Family Fun also assessed the scale of things in a fun (from "fine" to "Family Fun Recommended"), which really helped us to remove that so as not to lose as there were time constraints and money.
We wanted to make the most of our vacation. We did not want to drive by something and lost because we did not know it was there. It is also necessary to plan our budget for research and places to stay and things to do. This book has been invaluable. I still have to spend with little sticky notes for everything we wanted to see. Now this is a historical record of our vacation.
I recommend this book and all the guides Family Fun Vacation. Their qualifications are right and they know everything there is to do in parts of the country you want to see. Grab a book and hit the road, Jack!
We live in California, and bought this for information about Hawaii. Seems to have good information as part of California seems to be right on the mark with what we like to see and do in California.
Information is very good, but we already knew many things and California. We are eager to try the Hawaii soon!
