Disneyland – A Land of Sun, Fun and Fantasy

Visitors to Disneyland in California can take advantage of two different Disneyland vacation packages to save money and ensure they thoroughly enjoy everything about their stay. Both vacation packages include passes to all the Disneyland Parks in California, as well as self-parking, and the recreational and fitness facilities. A Disney Character Call comes as a courtesy with both of packages. The first vacation package is the Resort Hotel package that provides accommodation at any of the three hotels actually located on the Disneyland® Resort; the Disneyland® Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier®, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa. The Good Neighbor Hotel package is the second Disneyland vacation package. The only difference in this package is that lodging is at any of the 40 or so participating hotels located near the amusement park. Disney’s Magic Kingdom, designed by Walt Disney, fulfills its promise of amusement, fun and thrills to each person who walks through the gates. The 45 main attractions in the park can be categorized as: Fun for the Little Ones, Family Adventures, Amusements, Character Greetings, Discovery and Big Thrills. Frontierland, one of the earliest areas in Disneyland, allows visitors to get a look at the brave men and women who settled this country. While there you go back in time to witness a gun fight and see Boot Hill as you stroll through the frontier western town. Before you leave Frontierland, you should head over to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster. Hang on as you take this thrilling ride thru Thunder Mountain; rushing past bat caves, falling water and mine shafts. Watch out for the coyotes and falling rocks as you twist and turn through a field of stalactites and stalagmites. One of the Big Thrills attractions is Splash Mountain where you climb into a huge, hollowed-out log for a five-story drop down a watery path. Wipe the water from your eyes and laugh at the antics of characters from Disney’s “Song of the South”. Another famous Big Thrills ride is Space Mountain. There is probably nothing as memorable as the thrill and rush you get as you are suddenly hurtling with hyper-speed through space, past stars and planets. Hang on for dear life as you find yourself the rocket that twists and turns at warp speed through the cosmos. The eeriness of the old television series The Twilight Zone will grip your imagination as you ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™. You’ll experience a rush of adrenalin as the ride plunges down a 13-story drop surrounded by all the spookiness characteristic of The Twilight Zone. If you like spooky, you’ll get a thrill at Disney’s Haunted Mansion. Keep you eyes on the portraits that seem to change mysteriously and don’t get frightened by the stretching room. Cling to the “Doom Buggy” as you ride past strange houseguests and partying ghosts. At your first sight of the towers and turrets of the Disneyland Castle you will recognize this symbol of all things Disney. As you pass under the shadow cast by the towering castle you’ll realize you are entering a truly magical place.
