How Can I Travel Form Europe To The Us By Car?
It’s an idea I have for some time and can’t find the way to do it. I want to plan a trip to the US by car from Europe, travelling through Asia (Russia practically). Does anybody know any web sites where I can look for the things I need and where I could find out how many miles are and the routes I have to take. Also the documents I have to prepare and so on.

well you defintly need to have a passport, and you will edventually need to have a fairy lined up to take your car across once you get to the pacific ocean (that is gonna be spendy)…….as far as the route, don’t really know personally…..

The most obvious barrier is the Berring Straight to Alaska. One you get to Alaska, you are in the U.S. The Berring Straight is less than 100 miles accross.
Getting to the Berring Straight is going to be pretty tricky. You have to go through a lot of countries, laws and customs will vary. A lot of info is not on the net because there are still parts of the world that don’t have regular access. Language may be a barrier. The roads on maps may not be the actual roads when you get there, and they may not be negotiable. Heck, I have that problem now in California!
Availablility of lodging and fuel could be issues. If the car breaks, who will fix it? Will they need to order parts? Can they do this? When will the parts arrive? Will they arrive, or will you get an emtpy box? Payola might help. It might not.
Just the planning part of this trip will take you way beyond surfing the internet. It might take a year or more. You may find in the end that you cannot make it, or do not want to try…..Or you may find another trip you want to make even more.
I advise you to go ahead and start planning. Maybe some advice from a college Politcal Science instructor will get you off in the right direction. You will learn so much, and it will be fun.
