A Greedy Ireland

It is on 3 August 2007 and in Ireland it's still raining! Where is the nearest mental home?? I want to see men in white coats!
The biggest event of the summer season in Ireland is Galway races. Here is where wealth and power in Ireland gathered for a full week, in the canopies of several commercials, talk and work the soil, an emporium of classic networks adapting to Irish business psyche of the best. Politicians are mixed with mixers and engines and each conversation will have a reason to take his place.
There is food and drink in abundance, the opportunity to meet someone who is nobody, and offers will be carried out in a haze of alcohol and gambling, perhaps to deplore the effects when performed in the office a week later.
The Galway Races, however, remains a wonderful combination of sophisticated high society and rural dwellers and farmers, young and old, who are there for the leisure offer in this case means drinking, gambling and sex Not necessarily in that order! For many people, horses are a sideshow, and the fillies in bars and clubs, deserve more attention.
The races for a period of seven days and now bring enormous benefits to the city of Galway and its environs. This year revenues will be particularly welcome given the recent problem of water pollution that hit parts of the city and county. This has scared many potential tourists visiting the area and making life very difficult for families and business enterprises. This problem, of course, blames the local county council had not updated the sanitation facilities in line with the massive increase in population in the area. The blame really should be addressed to the government has not allocated adequate funding to local authorities to carry out the necessary improvements.
This brings me very well to the flu a week!
Yesterday, the last link of the M1 motorway from Dublin to Belfast was opened between the north of Dundalk to Newry. There is now what is known as the North / South corridor of life. Needless to say, all politicians and assorted suspensions were in effect at the official opening of shit about the wonderful opportunities this creates. These are the same politicians, of successive governments, which must take this road (and many others, for that matter), built in the 1980s when they were receiving funds specifically for that purpose by the EU in BRussells. Instead, due to economic mismanagement and incompetence, these funds were diverted illegally every day, because the expense of the huge budget shortfall that they, and not people, had allowed to accumulate. Ireland is light years behind the rest of Europe in terms of infrastructure. Last week, a study found that, per capita, the country is one of the richest in the world, ahead of the U.S. and the UK no less. Nobody, anywhere in the world who spend time there would realize that so called "fact".
Our medical service quality is probably lower than in many African countries that the Government sends money each year to improve its health system. People go to EA + and are sick on trolleys for days and days. There are very few regional health centers that treat cancer, for example. Thus the unfortunate people and their families who travel long distances for treatment at hospitals in Dublin, which are themselves under pressure to serve the needs of the areas that are mapped. The system is loaded with top management personnel of high wages, through the process of benchmarking of crazy that Bertie Ahern has agreed some years ago.
This monster has been created that the country will pursue over the coming decades. In our constant attitude of trying to please everybody at once, Bertie has tilted and turned over to the greedy union demands equal pay in the public sector. Thus, if the firefighters get a raise, the Garda will have to get one and so on. All other public sector services, therefore linked to the benchmarking process. In return, the unions pledged greater productivity of its members. How this is ridiculous! The civil servants do not live in the real world. They are spoiled hot wool, provided by the rest of the nation's workers, self employed and businesses paying taxes for a service that should be provided by half their number, and half of the cost. They do not know what productivity was if it hit in the face and then gave them a French kiss!
This gift by Bertie Benchmark has already cost the country 1 million and that is just Phase 1 of the process. Ireland is really a country that is living on borrowed time. Around the corner and is approaching a recession. They are losing jobs left, right and center. Why?
The answer is that we ourselves, with market prices because wage inflation unnecessary. Not surprisingly, the multinationals are coming in droves to countries in Eastern Europe and abroad.
The good times are about to come to an end. The first people to be affected are the workers and the self employed, as well as small business owners. The very last people who feel the effects will be the protected public sector, which will continue to suck the life out of the economy until the end. These leeches do not face reality because they have no capacity to do so. They will play their violins while the Titanic sinks!
Here is a proposal that could save the day.
The country is run by incompetent and his henchmen, public service workers. These people are not administrators. So on some barons hard-nosed business to do the job for a price.
Dermot Desmond to pay 50 million for designing the concept of running the country right. When Dermot has developed the concept (probably in 2 weeks), Michael O'Leary receives for its implementation. Michael will not be cheap, but it will do the job. Its cost will probably be less than the price you pay each year for the storage of electronic voting machines obsolete. Public servants who tremble in his boots for the first time dirty underwear could be the agenda.
But what a great day that would be!
